All the books you see above are now out in comic shops and book stores. That is not my table - it’s my Mom’s table. I don’t have a nice organized table like this. I don’t even own a coffee table. But like all nice comic book boys - I give my Mom copies of all my books. I told her not to read Memoria though. it’s too fucked up. But you guys will probably like it!
Seriously, it’s a thrill to have these collected editions out. Specifically Memoria and Lost Falls which came out almost 2 years ago digitally on comixology.
Here’s a little bit about each book:
Memoria: When an aged terminally ill detective and a young burnout are partnered up and saddled with an unsolvable case, they begin to unravel a sprawling conspiracy that points to one thing: The most prolific serial killer in american history. As they further investigate the case they make discoveries that will force them to question everything and everyone they know.
TRUE DETECTIVE meets LETHAL WEAPON with the prestige dramatic storytelling of a David Fincher film.
Teenage Wasteland: When his parents go out of town for the weekend, Mexican-American high schooler Javi decides to throw a party—one that'll launch him and his buds into popularity! Or at least get them noticed by some girls. But no high school party goes off without a hitch. Javi can only watch as his friend takes a beating from the school bully, but then—BAM! The apocalypse has the worst timing. With few survivors—and even fewer sane ones—Javi and his friends will have to learn to survive together, and mend the fallout from the last party before the end of the world.
Lost Falls: When Detective Daniel Pynchon Wakes up in Lost Falls, on the shore with no recollection of how he got there, he struggles to piece together the events that lead him there.
As he investigates the phenomenon surrounding his memory loss and the town itself, he discovers horrors both human and otherwise.
STUFF I LIKE / HAVE CONSUMED RECENTLY
Anthony Doerr is one of the most gifted writers of our time and I finally finished reading his latest book. It is brilliant and beautiful and humanistic in a transcendent way. Very rare I read something and feel jealous of it’s writer’s abilities but Doerr is one of those writers.
Starfield is great no matter what the internet says. It takes a bit to get going but the world, the systems and the narrative are expansive and brilliantly done. It’s the most immersive sci fi I’ve ever experienced and a massive achievement for Todd Howard and the team at Bethesda.
That’s all I got for now. Do me a favor and check out some of these new books.
peace and love
